5.01 Opening and Installing GovComm’s Detection System
Before shipping, GovComm requests customers provide three (3) IP addresses and a site map to ensure
that each wrong-way detection system is delivered pre-configured. Customers (depending on
customization) will receive equipment packaged as follows:
- One or more ONVIF Fixed Bullet Style ITS Camera with Infrared Illuminators
- Temperature Controlled NEMA Enclosure
Embedded Module – Marked w/ IP Address
Network Switch
AC/DC Power Converter
RF Transmitter
- 2X AC or Solar Powered Highlighted Wrong-Way Sign Assemblies
Open the equipment and remove the protective foam and tape.
Never pick-up or otherwise handle the equipment by the wiring harness.
Install the poles into the ground with clean power, network, and surge protection devices (not supplied).
If the system is solar powered, install the solar panel(s) and battery pack at the top of the signpost.
Otherwise, install the (marked) forward and rear facing cameras at the top of the detection pole using
the provided mounting hardware. A mounting height of 15 – 25 feet is recommended. Connect
network and power to the cameras from the NEMA enclosure.
Install the NEMA enclosure under the cameras using the provided mounting hardware.
Install the highlighted wrong-way sign under the NEMA enclosure using the provided mounting
hardware. Connect power and activation appliance.
Install all non-detection sign posts with solar panel, battery pack and RF receiver at the top.
Test the network and ensure clean power.
Connect network and power into the NEMA enclosure.
Open Browser and connect to each camera directly (using default username and password). Ensure that
the field of view of each camera includes the detection zone(s) and regions of interest. Adjust themounting angles, as necessary.
